WATCH Docket Volunteer Position
WATCH uses the practice of court monitoring, and partnership with survivors in community, to defend the human rights of those who have experienced domestic abuse, sexual assault, and sex trafficking. WATCH plays a vital role in AHR's advocacy to create trauma-responsive legal systems and community-based alternatives for all survivors.
Volunteer Duties
WATCH docket volunteers use public court records and court calendars to identify hearings related to WATCH’s mission that are scheduled for Hennepin County Criminal Court. Docket volunteers use that information to create docket spreadsheets for court observation volunteers to use during their shifts. The WATCH Docket Volunteer role provides vital assistance to WATCH staff and helps facilitate comprehensive court observation and advocacy for survivors. This may be completed in-person or remotely.
Requirements
Must be available for 2-3 shifts per week, with estimated shift length being about 2 hours.
We ask for a 1-year commitment
Must have computer/laptop or other technology to create dockets.
