The Advocates for Human Rights is seeking volunteers to provide research support for our WATCH Court Monitoring Project. The WATCH project draws on the practice of court monitoring to defend the human rights of survivors of gender-based violence, including domestic abuse, sexual assault, and sex trafficking.
WATCH Project research volunteers are responsible for conducting searches of public court records and compiling summaries for staff review. Volunteers may also be asked to conduct other research assignments, and project assistance, on an as-needed basis to support the WATCH project and The Advocate for Human Rights’ advocacy work related to gender-based violence.
This is an in-person volunteer opportunity. Shifts will take place in downtown Minneapolis. Volunteers will split their time between the Hennepin County Government Center (conducting record searches) and The Advocates for Human Rights office. We ask that volunteers commit at least 10 hours a week. Volunteer shifts must take place during business hours (Monday-Friday 8:30 AM-5:00 PM). We ask that volunteers commit a minimum of six months to this opportunity.
