Zoe Martens

Programs: Advocacy

As the ICOP Policy Manager, Zoe manages and analyzes data collected by immigration court observers and supports ICO project operation. She manages the Advocates' local and state policy advocacy on migrant rights and works with the Advocates' domestic policy team to advance organizational priorities.

Zoe has worked in human rights since spending a semester in the US-Mexico borderlands on the Border Studies Program. She is motivated to contribute to a world where someone's right to a dignified life does not depend upon what side of a border they are born.

She has worked in direct accompaniment of migrant people and survivors of violence at Esperanza United in St. Paul and La 72 Casa Hogar para Personas Migrantes on the Mexico-Guatemala border. She developed policy advocacy as informed by people in migration at the Kino Border Initiative on the US-Mexico border and most recently worked in immigration outreach at Southern MN Regional Legal Services in St. Paul.

Zoe holds a BA in Comparative American Studies from Oberlin College and a Masters in Human Rights from the Humphrey School of Public Affairs.
