Update from Geneva: The UK's Policies & Practices
This week, our Women Human Rights team is participating in the United Kingdom's country revision by the Human Rights Committee in its #170 session. The Human Rights Committee is a body of independent experts that monitors the implementation of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR)by countries.
With our partners Hibiscus Initiatives, we reported about the policies that the UK has implemented that create a hostile environment for migrants, particularly Black and minoritized migrant women.
The Advocates is grateful to partner with organizations like Hibiscus, and thanks them for all the necessary work they do for women in the UK.
Do you want to learn more about the UK's policies and practices? Read the joint report here.
We also invite you to join us at our Women's Rights House Party on April 4th to learn more about our work with global partners in advancing the rights of women!
