Case Summary: H is a 17-year-old from Guatemala. He left Guatemala to escape poverty and to seek better opportunities. H comes from a large family with nine siblings, where he is the eldest. He had many responsibilities, and his family often did not have enough food. He started worked at the age of 10 to help his family, doing farm work. He could not continue his education past the sixth grade, despite his desire to do so, as his family could not afford the school fees and the school was very far. He has also lost hearing in one of his ears and was unable to seek a doctor in Guatemala due to the cost. He came to the United States in order to escape poverty and seek medical care.
