This report addresses the human rights situation in Guinea since 2020. The government has
restricted civic space and press freedom and has suppressed freedom of opinion, expression,
and association through violence, arbitrary detentions, and enforced disappearances. The
government has failed to protect the rights of women and girls, who experience female genital
mutilation, domestic violence, and sexual assault. Some information in this report is from
Guineans in the diaspora. Among the people with lived expertise who provided information
for this report are clients represented by The Advocates for Human Rights and other human
rights defenders.
