Women's Human Rights Legal Internship

Location: Remote/ hybrid
This internship is designed to provide individuals with a deeper understanding of gender-based violence issues domestically and internationally. Interns will have the opportunity to learn about both the Minnesota legal system and the UN human rights mechanisms.
Primary duties and responsibilities
- Researching international human rights instruments and country laws and issues related to violence against women and girls.
- http://www.stopvaw.org/Providing research and support for numerous reports, especially longer-term research on the far-right movement and other forms of violence against women.
- Assisting with research on activism and migrant support activities under Operation Metro Surge.
- Supporting staff in preparation of social media campaigns, trainings, note-taking, and other missions.
Experience and qualifications
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to meet deadlines
- Strong legal research skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Sensitivity to diverse cultures
- Fluency in English
- Strong English writing skills
- Proficiency in a second language is a plus
Required skills
- Basic Microsoft Office 365 proficiency
- Knowledge of citations
