Exploitation and Trafficking in Forced Labor
Type: CLE
Issues: Human Trafficking
The Advocates seeks to raise awareness of the options available for the many individuals who suffer exploitation and trafficking in forced labor. U.S. law provides some protections to noncitizen victims of labor trafficking through the T nonimmigrant status. During this one-hour CLE, you will learn the basics of T visa applications and working with trafficking survivors. We will identify issues that arise and how to ethically represent trafficking survivors. Participants should leave this training understanding how to analyze cases for potential T eligibility and begin handling trafficking cases. The Advocates expert staff will provide information about how to ethically handle T visa cases and potential issues that may arise for immigration practitioners handling other types of cases where individuals may be victims of trafficking. This will be the first in a series of CLEs focusing on immigration relief and victims of labor exploitation and trafficking.
One ethics CLE credit has been requested under code 490424.
