Valeria Jacome
Valeria is a Program Associate with The Advocates' Women's Human Rights Program where she is involved with domestic and international advocacy focused on women's rights and gender-based violence. In her role, Valeria engages in research and writing for UN advocacy efforts, plays a supporting role for the WATCH court observation project, oversees the StopVAW website, supervises intern hiring and projects, and assists with any other actions needed to support the Women's Program.
Before working with The Advocates, Valeria spent one year working for an immigration law firm, where she served as a case manager for individuals seeking asylum, residency, and naturalization in the United States. Valeria obtained a Master of Arts in Human Rights and Humanitarian Action from Sciences Po's Paris School of International Affairs. She also has a Bachelor of Arts in International Affairs with a minor in Sociology from the Elliott School of International Affairs at the George Washington University.
