Cedar Weyker

Cedar represents unaccompanied children (UACs) in a variety of immigration matters, including appearances in immigration court and applications for asylum, SIJS, T visas, U visas, and work permits. She also represents children and their guardians in family court for the purpose of seeking custody or guardianship. Cedar works with local partners to advocate for policies favorable to clients and the community at large.
Cedar is motivated by a desire to help members of the community obtain justice and legal status.
Before entering the legal field, Cedar worked with youth-focused nonprofit organizations in the Twin Cities metro area for three years. She interned with The Advocates for Human Rights' Refugee & Immigrant Program in the summer of 2019.
Cedar obtained her Juris Doctor from the University of Minnesota Law School in 2023. During law school, she was a certified student attorney in the Detainee Rights Clinic and an Articles Editor for the Minnesota Journal of Law & Inequality. She graduated from Hamilton College in 2017 with majors in Comparative Literature and Hispanic Studies.
Cedar is a member of the Minnesota-Dakotas Chapter of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, where she serves on the Raid Response Committee.
She is fluent in Spanish.
