Case Summary: From 2019/20 to 2021, Ms. RT was in a relationship with E, who was emotionally manipulative and physically abusive. After he beat her while she was pregnant and nearly killed their child, she tried seeking protection from the Court. When the Court issued an arrest warrant, she went to the police, who told her she would need to find him in person before contacting them. E continued to contact her through the phone to issue death threats. After fleeing E, she began a relationship with another man, V, who was also abusive. He would insult her using gendered language. He was also physically abusive towards her son. After she learned of the abuse, she fled to live with her mother. In March 2024, Ms. RT was going to see her sister when V attacked her and tried choking her to death. She only survived because her sister’s partner was able to drag him off her. She fled to the U.S. soon after this. Since coming to the U.S., her youngest daughter has been kidnapped by E, and he continues to threaten Ms. RT.
