Case Summary: Mr. LM is LGBTQ+ and has known since he was about 12 years old that he was queer. In Honduras, it was very hard to live as an LGBTQ+ person. When his classmates discovered that Mr. LM was gay, they beat him. He was also prohibited from attending his church in Honduras after they discovered that he was gay. If he returns to Honduras, Mr. LM fears that he will continue to face abuse for his sexual orientation. Additionally, Mr. LM was diagnosed with HIV after entering the U.S. Mr. LM fears he will not be able to access medical treatment for his HIV if he returned to Honduras.
