Human Trafficking Awareness: Nuances, Partnerships, Legal Protections, and Victim Assistance
Human trafficking too often goes unreported and unidentified. The Advocates is working to change that through training, protocol development, outreach, and client services. Learn about what constitutes trafficking, common fact patterns that you may see in your own practice, and what resources are available for victims.

Two-Part Trafficking Awareness CLE
12:00-1:00 PM (CST) - This session will be an overview of human trafficking. It will examine the causes, dynamics, and typology of trafficking in both sex and labor markets. This session will also cover successful collaborations between NGO, governmental, and private sectors in uncovering trafficking, assisting victims, and prosecuting perpetrators under MN law and the federal Trafficking Victims Protection Act. Appropriate referrals and opportunities to provide victim assistance will also covered. (1 hour CLE credit)
1:15-2:15 PM (CST) - This segment will focus on how to address evidentiary issues related to T-visa applications. Participants should have some basic knowledge of the T-visa or U-visa applications prior to attending. Concrete examples will be provided. This video provides basic T-visa training. (1 hour CLE credit)
