The Path to Asylum: From Arriving to Thriving
Type: In Person
Issues: Legal Representation , Migrant Rights
Following relentless assaults on the U.S. asylum system, The Advocates' clients today face a backlogged and bewildering bureaucracy. Join us on October 18th to learn how hundreds of volunteers provide legal advocacy to more than 3000 adults, families, and children forced to flee danger in their homelands. Hear Pro Bono Counsel Theresa Dykoschak share her experience representing a young political activist who was forced to flee and is now thriving after being granted asylum. And celebrate how 5 years of immigration court monitoring is helping us re-envision an asylum system that centers the dignity of all who seek protection in the United States. Special thanks to Andrea and Jim Rubenstein for hosting this event.
